Piero Lissoni is architect, art director and designer and is recognized as one of the masters of contemporary design.
Art director of the company since 1989, with him in the 90’s the brand specializes in modular systems for living and sleeping areas, for home and office areas, which reflect its spatiality of architectural imprinting. Over the years Piero Lissoni has contributed to create Porro unique image, made of essential, simple and elegant furniture elements: all Porro products are the result of a subtraction and derive from a progressive simplification process. Even the systems, which are complex in themselves, are the result of a very simple aesthetic vision, based on consistency and simplification without forgetting the highest quality.
Piero Lissoni, as main interpreter of Porro design, year after year studies new eye-catching compositions of the company’s systems and enriches the brand’s collection with new products. Among these, some of the company icons such as the Ferro table (1994), the Sidewall bookcase and the Groove bench (2007), the Neve chair (2010), the Metallico table and the Ex-Libris glass cabinet (2011), the Makura bed and the Materic table (2016) and the Offshore containers (2019).
For over thirty years, he has developed projects the world over in the fields of architecture, landscape and interior, as well as in product and graphic design.
Some of the most important architecture and interior projects deserving of mention include the Dorothea Hotel in Budapest (2023), the AKA hotel in New York (2023), the Shangri-La Shougang Park in Beijing (2021) realized for the 2022 winter Olympics, The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Miami Beach (2020), the Grand Park Hotel in Rovigno, Croatia (2019), the restyling of the historic Camparino in Galleria Bar in Milan (2019), The Middle House for the Swire Hotels Group in Shanghai (2018), the residential projects One Paraiso and Grand Paraiso in Miami (2018), The Oberoi Al Zorah Beach Resort Ajman in the UAE (2017), the interiors of a series of yachts for Sanlorenzo (2017-2020), the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam (2012), the renovation of the historic Teatro Nazionale in Milan (2009), in addition to the corporate headquarters of Boffi, Glas Italia, Fantini, Living Divani and the Sanlorenzo shipyards in La Spezia and Ameglia.
Piero Lissoni has received a series of international awards, including the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award and the Compasso d'Oro ADI.
