Porro @ Lake Como Design Festival/The form of lightness

Porro is participating in the sixth edition of the Lake Como Design Festival, scheduled from September 15 to 22, 2024, in the city of Como and around its lake, with lightness as its guiding theme.
The Spindle chair, made from ultra-thin cross-section chromed harmonic steel, has been selected for the collective exhibition "The Form of Lightness”, showcasing a selection of different chairs, starting from examples of bentwood from the early 20th century, passing through the Bauhaus and Rationalism schools, the material experimentation of the 1960s and 1970s, up to the latest contemporary creations.
Representative of the 2000s, Spindle embodies the quest for extreme lightness in both design and material pursued by its designer, Piero Lissoni, highlighted by the "shells" of the seat and backrest, made of curved wood.

Palazzo del Broletto, piazza Duomo, Como
    Opening Hours 10am-7pm

Porro Participates in the Salone del Mobile Pop-Up @ Bloomingdale’s

As part of the “From Italy with Love” project, a series of activities dedicated to Italy taking place in September, Porro is participating in the physical pop-up dedicated to Made in Italy furniture within one of New York’s most iconic department stores: Bloomingdale’s. The project, curated by Ferruccio Laviani and inspired by Giorgio de Chirico and Italian piazzas, includes the iconic Ferro table designed in 1994 by Piero Lissoni for Porro: a sheet of aluminum folded like origami, a thin shape that appears to be suspended in the air.
