Porro celebrates 100 years with “between folds” at Boundary, Bangkok
A multisensory journey where Italian design meets Eastern fragrance
To mark its centennial, Porro returns to Bangkok with “Between Folds”, a special exhibition hosted by Boundary, a key player in Thailand’s contemporary design scene, in collaboration with the local fragrance brand Ganda Scent & Object.
A longstanding partnership since 2013, the collaboration between Porro and Boundary is built on a shared aesthetic vision and a cultural dialogue between Italy and Asia. With this exhibition-installation, the bond is renewed through a unique sensory experience combining design, craftsmanship, and olfactory memory.
The installation guides visitors through a selection of Porro’s iconic pieces and new collections, where the company’s ongoing research into materials is enhanced by an unprecedented element: scent. Fragrance becomes part of the environment, adding depth and intimacy to the design experience by engaging sight, touch, and smell.
At the heart of the exhibition is Storage, Porro’s modular system for wardrobes and walk-in closets, shown in a wide range of solutions and finishes that embody the brand’s commitment to customization and confirm its popularity across Asia.
The display opens with “It’s All About People”, a tribute to Porro’s 100th anniversary featuring award-winning icons by Alessandro Mendini, Front, and Nao Tamura.
The exhibition continues through living, dining, and bedroom settings, where each piece—whether the sculptural Materic table, the timeless Romby chairs, or the floating Iro bed—expresses the brand’s distinctive blend of minimalism, material richness, and refined detailing.
Three wardrobe environments complete the journey, showcasing the versatility of the Storage system with architectural compositions, precious woods, transparent elements, and center-room drawer units such as Storage Isola, Acquario, and Hub—ideal platforms for displaying curated objects and fragrances.
“Between Folds” is more than a design showcase: it is an invitation to discover Porro’s universe through a new lens—where form meets memory, and interiors become a sensory landscape.
