The Swedish group FRONT, founded in 2003, works as a team where all members are involved in an eclectic design process.

Their collaboration with Porro has led to the creation of the Black and White collection and the Shadow Light lamp (2009), the Balancing Boxes side table and the Mirror Table console with mirror (2010), the Inlay sideboard and the Showcase Table (2011), the Gentle chair and the Chameleon storage unit (2012), the 3Table coffee table and the Mikado sideboard (2013), the Loop Mirror (2014), the Ellipse Table (2015), and the Draped Chair (2016): designs that combine formal simplicity with a playful spirit, conceived for those who seek emotion in interior design.
Over the years, the company has reinterpreted important traditions—such as wood carving, bent wood, inlay, and the juxtaposition of wooden slats—through a modern and abstract lens, giving life to high-quality projects. This is confirmed by several accolades, including the EDIDA, ELLE DECO INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD, awarded to the Gentle chair as “Best Seating 2013” and to the Mikado sideboard as “Best Furniture 2014”; the “Best Furniture of the Year” nomination by Rum Magazine in 2016 for the Ellipse Table; and the Wallpaper Design Award “Best Cupboard 2012” for the Inlay sideboard.

Led by founding designers Anna Lindgren and Sofia Lagerkvist, the duo creates objects, furniture, and interiors that explore the process behind their making, often challenging the conventional role of the designer. Their work frequently incorporates a narrative—related to the creative process, to cultural conventions and expectations, or to the material itself. FRONT’s body of work spans a wide range of pieces inspired by animals, virtual games, accidental discoveries, and magical furniture, skillfully balancing serial production and experimentation, functionality and surprise.
