Porro @ Inside Gallery – Claude Cartier Studio

09.05.18

7 April – 14 September 2018

Porro reaffirms its presence in France alongside Claude Cartier, protagonist of the Lyon scene and a prominent name in the world of interior decoration and interiors, on the occasion of the 7th edition of "Inside Gallery”, taking place from 7 April to 14 September in Lyon.
Drawing inspiration from her travels and memories, Claude Cartier transforms her showroom into an unconventional living space, where Porro pieces in custom made finishes, identified by clean lines and impeccable details, elegantly furnish the night and day areas, matched with the strong expressive language of Dedar fabrics.

2 Kite armchairs by GamFratesi play a starring role in the living room with their pure and enveloping shape, re-interpreted by the French designer with a neutral color woven fabric and a warm green bottle velvet. The Ferro low table in the centre enchants for its precious burnished brass finish, making the ambiance an informal and comfortable meeting point.

On the wall an unusual Modern + Load-it composition, design Piero Lissoni and Wolfgang Tolk, favours a monochromatic wood – the eucalyptus - in a soft contrast with the burnished brass Load-it panels and shelves and the carta da zucchero lacquered Modern interiors that provide depth. A seductive mix of precious wooden essences, bright metals and refined colours, which can be modulated as one wishes to achieve the favourite environment aligned with one’s own desires.

The Materic table by Piero Lissoni emerges in the space with its clear and rigorously fashionable aesthetic, with the rich highlights of the verde rameggiato marble top, and the intense dark of the solid black stained ash base, juxtaposed to the sleek profile of the Voyage chairs by Gamfratesi in tapered wood and leather. Designed to contain plates and glasses, the Gallery Low sideboard by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti has a single horizontal wooden door, which slides down revealing black lacquered interiors.

In an octane-coloured set, the Kite armchair by GamFratesi with a special Japan-inspired decorative fabric, the Loop mirror by the Swedish designers Front, a real wooden sculpture with a protruding shelf and the Maggio chest of drawers by Alessandro Mendini, whose diamond section, removable drawers and inlaid design demonstrate Porro's innate ability to choose, work and interpret wood, are raised on a platform like museum pieces.

The Makura bed designed by Piero Lissoni personalises with its soft shapes and enveloping headboard the bedroom in the shades of powder pink and blue, together with the Hub bedside table by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti with elegant canaletto walnut structure and sahara noir marble top. Purity and modernity cohabit perfectly in the apple wood Collector writing desk, giving the room a vintage flavor.

The seating proposal is enhanced by the Traveller daybed by Gamfratesi with a black painted metal structure, natural saddle leather siderests and an elegant linen covering with exclusive pillows, a haven where you can let yourself go and travel with your mind.

The second dining area in shades of light blue and violet is pervaded by the sensuality of Galileo table design Piero Lissoni in solid black stained ash with dark tones and organic contour, combined with the precise lines of Voyage chairs with tapered ash structure and leather covering, suitable for its impeccable elegance even in a business context.

With a sophisticated mix & match, once again Claude Cartier Studio deftly manages to create a unique and refined set up, and testing the richness of Porro palette, an incredible range of finishes where to choose from according to one’s own taste, to create impeccable objects and pieces of furniture with an ever-changing flavour, mirroring one’s own personality.
