Exhibition by Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MEACI) hosted by Salone del Mobile. Milano
Fiera Milano – Rho
21-26 April 2026

Porro participates in ABITO, the traveling exhibition curated by Palomba Serafini Associati and promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with the aim of promoting Italian culture within an international circuit.
The company takes part in the first stop of the exhibition, hosted at Salone del Mobile.Milano from 21 to 26 April at Fiera Milano Rho. The installation, designed by Palomba Serafini Associati, is entirely set within an elliptical structure conceived specifically for the project. The name ABITO embodies the very concept of the exhibition: the word refers both to the world of living and to that of fashion, becoming a metaphor for a dialogue between disciplines.
The exhibition narrative is organized chronologically by decade, relating, for each historical period, archival garments selected from the Fondazione Quinto Tinarelli collection with iconic Made in Italy design objects, interpreted through the photographic work of Roberto Palomba.
The exhibition comprises ten original photographs: in each, a garment worn by a model is presented in relation to a design object representative of the same decade. Porro participates with Ferro, the iconic table designed by Piero Lissoni in 1994, selected in the black rectangular version among the ten “hero pieces” of the exhibition. Sensual and elegant, with its gently curving edge yet strongly distinctive, Ferro was chosen both for the production of the photographic shots planned for the project and for its display within the exhibition at the fair. The printed photographs create an exhibition pathway in which the ten garments, displayed on mannequins, are accompanied by a broader selection of design objects than those featured in the photographs, with the aim of building a complete narrative for each decade.
