A new stronghold of Italian design by Porro in the Chinese capital
Just minutes from the Beijing Capital Airport, along one of the city’s main connection routes, the new Casavera Beijing store opens its doors, dedicating a spacious shop-in-shop to the Porro universe. A place conceived to bring the local public closer to the excellence of Italian design, celebrated on opening day in the presence of the Italian Ambassador, Massimo Ambrosetti.
The large open space at the entrance, shaped by essential forms, refined materials, and bold chromatic accents, introduces visitors to a fluid journey through the various Porro settings. The entrance area, designed as an elegant contemporary waiting lounge, welcomes the enveloping Kite armchairs by GamFratesi together with the colorful Ghiaccio armchairs by Piero Lissoni in red-stained ash. The Gallery Low Cupboard by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, featuring a vertical door in black-stained hemlock, bright yellow interiors, and a mirrored back panel, adds a touch of theatricality.
In the dining room stands the poetic Synapsis table by Jean-Marie Massaud, distinguished by its organic shape and intertwined base in white-painted steel rods. The Neve chairs by Piero Lissoni, crafted in natural ash with a white leather padded seat, complete the composition with sober, harmonious elegance.
The narrative continues into the kitchen, where the Ex-Libris sideboard by Piero Lissoni—precious to the touch and to the eye—becomes the focal point of style and functionality.
The living area unfolds around the low Ferro table by Piero Lissoni, in an intense rosso cina lacquer, while the wall features a Modern + Load-it composition. The steel panels and shelves of the Load-it bookcase interplay with the wooden storage units of Modern, shaping a functional area with an architectural and luminous character.
In the night area, the Storage system, design Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro, creates an angular solution alternating wooden doors with recessed Oslo handles, open compartments in black sugi melamine, and a shoe cabinet with enlightened shelves. At the center, the Acquario freestanding chest of drawers in transparent crystal with burnished brass profiles becomes a refined showcase for personal objects, perfect for both residential spaces and high-end boutiques.
The upholstered Makura bed by Piero Lissoni, elegantly suspended, is paired with Boxes bedside tables featuring marble tops. The room is completed by mirrored wardrobes, the Modern + Load-it vanity niche, the Gentle chair, and a carta da zucchero Modern TV composition with swivel panel.
The wooden System bookcase, with its irregular grid, offers an ideal solution for displaying objects and collections.
Porro’s proposal continues with a selection of emblematic elements: the Gap bookcase by Carlo Tamborini in grigio piombo, capable of combining lighting and scenographic presence; on the wall, Load-it alternates bronze surfaces with steel panels featuring black canneté wall panels, creating a refined material rhythm.
Finally, the last wardrobe environment features a Storage Battente composition with saddle leather doors, paired with a transparent solution with Iron glass doors and cuvée-finished frames. At the center stands the Hub central drawer unit by Oscar and Gabriele Buratti, complete with a fabric bench that provides a dedicated seat for admiring one’s wardrobe—true heart of the home and synthesis of Porro’s identity.
