Carlo Tamborini was born in Milan, Italy.
After attending European Institute of Design (IED) In Milan, in 1993 he started working as a freelancer designing interiors, exhibition systems and packaging projects.
He collaborated with a number of architectural studios and in 1997 he joined the Lissoni Associati Studio in Milan where he is currently the Design Manager.

In 1998 he co-founded the group Codice 31 and from 1999 onwards, he has been designing lights and interior furnishings for important design companies. 
The collaboration with Porro started in 2018 with the design of Gap hanging bookcase.
