The tailor-made elegance of Porro design enters the Jinling Residences in Shanghai, the largest real estate development promoted by Kerry Properties in mainland China.
In the heart of Shanghai’s Huangpu district, just steps away from Yu Garden and the Bund, rises an ambitious project combining high-end residences, offices, retail spaces, and a hotel — all conceived to create a new benchmark for contemporary living in the Chinese metropolis.
Porro takes part in Phase 1 of the project, dedicated to the construction of the two residential towers T3 and T4, comprising a total of 152 apartments in four different layouts. After completing the sample apartment, the company is now engaged in the production and installation of all the units, each enhanced by the Storage wardrobe system, presented in synergy with the Modern + Load-it equipped wall system and Glide sliding doors.
At the heart of the project, Storage — the modular system designed by Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro — masterfully combines functionality, flexibility, and purity, effortlessly transforming from wardrobe to walk-in closet. With infinite possibilities for internal organization, a wide range of finishes, and multiple opening solutions, Storage turns every functional need into a tailor-made design, where proportions and construction details express the manufacturing excellence of the Italian brand.
Within the Jinling Residences, in the T3 – E type apartments, Porro enhances the master bedroom with a refined custom-made Storage wardrobe area that follows the zigzag layout of the floor plan, creating a harmonious and functional environment. At the room’s entrance, a Storage corner solution with transparent glass doors and ash hemlock melamine interiors optimizes space and enhances visual depth, alternating inclined shoe racks, shelves, and hanging modules. In front of the bed, a Storage linear composition alternates Riff doors in barrique oak enclosing a suspended chest of drawers with removable leather boxes, in continuity with Layer wall panels in the same finish. A Modern + Load-it niche in barrique oak completes the wall, equipped with open storage modules and a suspended desk top.
The T4 – F type apartments replicate the same Storage articulated solution with a desk niche and include an additional Storage dressing room with open modules in ash hemlock.
The T4 – G layout instead explores bright, Nordic atmospheres: the dressing room, enclosed by Glide sliding doors in leather with boîte aux handles, features open modules in white cherry melamine with a cuvée metal structure. Another Storage wardrobe, enclosed by transparent doors with cuvée profiles, includes a suspended chest of drawers with a glass top and front and white cherry internal partitions. Finally, a Modern + Load-it writing area with a top and suspended modules in white cherry completes the space, blending simplicity and material warmth.
