PORRO @ SUPERSALONE - PREVIEW

PORRO @ SUPERSALONE
Present at the Salone del Mobile since its first time with an original approach, innovative by tradition, Porro takes up the challenge of the new Supersalone exhibition format and prepares to enchant, mixing the typical elements of its language – abstraction and concreteness, rationality and poetry, technology and handmade – in a new unique interpretation.
The installation “The Electric Box” by Piero Lissoni, Porro Art Director since 1989, is a lighted transparent box, a pure 12-metre large cage, made with Storage – the comprehensive and multi-faceted wardrobe system designed back in 2000 that has undergone a major aesthetic and functional evolution. An abstract sculpture at first glance, which at a closer look turns into a multifunctional piece of architectural furniture thanks to a conceptual styling that hints at its possible uses, now as a cupboard, now as a bookcase or rather as a piece of kitchen furniture.
The Storage composition, created in a niche and made to order thanks to the new just-in-time system that follows a lean approach to sustainable growth, then leaves room for a platform where some iconic pieces from the collections are displayed: furniture with minimalist shapes and impeccable details that in combination with the architectural systems complete the brand’s settings.
Finally, a multimedia video installation offers a true immersive experience to discover one of the most successful brands on the international design scene, thanks to its strength and purity.
