Dining room 2022

14.09.22

The history of a family encompasses moments of encounter and moments of confrontation.
The dining room is not a static space but a place of relationships, where methodical actions take on a ritual value. In their religious repetition, daily gestures bring back to mind the deep sense of building a story, step by step.

POETICALLY MINIMAL
The Materic Ovale table and the Neve chair

Materic Ovale table, designed by: Piero Lissoni, 2022
Porro’s ongoing research into materials, manufacturing techniques and shapes that generate emotions revolves once again around Materic, the table project conceived in 2017 by Piero Lissoni with the idea of experimenting with the versatility of matter in elementary geometries. Part of the 2022 collections is the version of Materic with a new oval tabletop and a truncated cone base, both in natural brushed ash, an extra-clear Scandinavian-style finish. A silent object epitomizing visual harmony, poetically minimal, vibrating in space and enchanting with the delicate nuances of nature.

Neve chair, designed by: Piero Lissoni, 2010
Neve is a chair with exact yet soft lines, which reinterprets the classic wooden chair in a contemporary vein. While the support structure is characterised by a frame of slightly inclined, clear lines of various thicknesses, the roundness of the spindle legs and the slim curvature of the back and suspended seat soften its figure. The chair is available with solid ash frame, with curved plywood seat and back.

GEOMETRIC DECOR
Pascal table and Romby chair

Pascal table, designed by: Piero Lissoni, 2020
The Pascal table is distinguished by the visual lightness of its die-cast aluminum wing-shaped legs which is connected without interruption with the horizontal supporting structure on which the top rests, available in a variety of materials, creating an interplay of superimpositions and double thickness. Produced by the industrial soul that has enabled the attainment of unprecedent lengths, it is at the same time a sculptural piece of a plastic nature which modulates its look to adapt to the most diverse uses. Rigorous and essential for the office, elegant and seductive for contract, but also a master key for the home, with its ability to match its Iron painted metal leg with a top in solid wood, marble or ceramic.

Romby chair, designed by: GamFratesi, 2020
Geometric allure and retro look give the Romby chair an abstract charm. Perfect in a dining room or in a working environment, Romby is a cocoon armchair with impeccable proportions and workmanship, which embraces the body while leaving it free to move, surrounded by a feeling of great lightness. Romby consists of two structural elements featuring well-balanced sizes and materials. The truncated conical base in natural sand blasted or black stained ash solid wood, is connected to a soft and compact padded swivel seat, with cover coming in all fabrics and leathers of the Porro Collection, except for velvet.

INTIMATE CONVIVIALITY
Ryoba table and Nebbia chair

Ryoba table, designed by: Piero Lissoni 2022
A tribute to natural materials and to the beauty of imperfection, the Ryoba table features legs and a very thick solid olive ash wood top. The legs with a triangular section create an easel supporting the textured table top, that is made up of solid boards – each one different from the other - carefully selected by the master cabinetmaker. The proportions of the table, which is narrow and long to match the natural size of the trunks, invite to a new intimate conviviality, while the exposed cracks and tiled knots underscore the poetry of this beautiful wood type.

Nebbia chair, designed by: Piero Lissoni 2022
Grace and discretion characterise the new Nebbia chair, in which craftsmanship blends with industrial design. Thick solid ash wood legs give life to the finely curved armrests, offering support for the shell-shaped backrest and the seat, both upholstered. With authenticity and memory – revisited in a contemporary way – as its core values, the chair offers great comfort, convenience and new expressive possibilities for contract spaces.

50’S ATMOSPHERES
Metallico table and Voyage chair

Metallico table, designed by: Piero Lissoni 2011
Delicacy and resistance come together to create a timeless table: a pure volume capable of instilling solid elegance. The refined detail of the junction between the leg and the tabletop in aluminum sheet metal points out the strength of technology, that allows to obtain rigorous lines and reduced thicknesses imbued with extraordinary elegance. The special surface finish is achieved through a catalyzed high-thickness coating and the subsequent sanding and waxing processes, carried out by hand.

Voyage chair, designed by: Gamfratesi, 2016
Voyage is a chair with precise contours that draws inspiration from typical 1950’s furniture, making it up-to-date. Voyage is made up of an exposed framework in tapered solid maple; across it, a leather covering is stretched and gives shape to a very comfortable and ergonomic seat and backrest.
