To celebrate its centenary, Porro brings Alessandro Mendini’s Linea collection to Australia, now on display at Space Furniture in Sydney: an explosion of colour and vitality that pays tribute to Italian design culture, enhancing the geometric precision of forms and the refined craftsmanship that has always defined the brand. Since 1993 a benchmark in high-end furniture, Space showcases on pedestals two of the three storage pieces – the open and closed sideboards – the result of meticulous archival research conducted by Porro with Fulvia and Elisa Mendini, daughters of the renowned designer. Inlaid with cellulose acetate, these pieces stand out for their interplay of solids and voids and their vibrant chromatic energy: true works of art in a limited edition, honoured with major international prizes such as the Wallpaper Design Awards, EDIDA, and the NYCxDESIGN Awards.
