As part of the annual activity of updating solutions and compositions, carried out by the company alongside its Art Director Piero Lissoni, this year’s focus is primarily on the System book shelving and equipped wall system. Thanks to new technologies, the traditional side-panel system has undergone an evolution, and its dense grid has been thinned out to give life to real wooden tapestries on the wall. In the new System HT compositions, graphic patterns with an evocative materiality are marked by light metal uprights or wooden partitions: they are emphasised by the diffused light projected onto the back panel, which is transformed into ambient lighting integrated into the wall system.
System HT in eucalipto mix: infinite sensuality
In the studio environment, the new System HT completely rethinks System book-shelving system designed by Piero Lissoni + CRS Porro. By reimagining the traditional side-panel system, the design achieves a visually lighter look by emphasizing long, horizontal shelves with a thickness of 40mm in the new moka metallic lacquer. They are supported by slim moka metallic metal uprights and by a play of eucalyptus wooden partitions, chosen also for the eucalyptus mix backdrop, with irregular arrangement, that create a checkerboard pattern with evocative effects of light and shadow, further enhanced by integrated ambient lighting. Presented as the closing element of the large compartments for the new System HT, the Glide Miru sliding partition in transparent glass perfectly blends not only with the space but also with all Porro’s modular systems.
System HT in glossy fango: mélange of neutral tones
In the living area, the new configuration of System HT offers 3 main functions: on the left, the glass cabinet enclosed by new glass doors with a special hinge and fixed only at the top and bottom to the shelves, creating a continuous compartment without any partitions; in the centre, the large compartment that can accommodate large TVs; on the right, a section with a drop-lead door as a containment area. The constructive elements of the composition communicate with each other thanks to the chosen finishes: the new glossy fango color for the back panels perfectly matches the finish of the varnished moka uprights and the 40 mm thickness heat-treated oak shelves and vertical dividers.
System HT in canaletto walnut mix: refined contrasts
In the collection since 1987, System has totally renovated its construction principle by replacing the structure of the side panel, that turns into a slender 15 x 25 mm upright. The protagonist is the back panel, which creates a real wall covering, also thanks to the selected finish.
The canaletto walnut mix surface is paired with long 40 mm thick moka metallic shelves, moka uprights, a glossy fango lacquered wall unit, a transparent display case, and a play of vertical dividers in canaletto walnut, combining the three functions of a glass cabinet, bookshelf and storage unit for the living area.
