From the system to the one-off piece: interview with Maria Porro on Pambianco Design

"Today the world of design is increasingly requiring the ability, as in art, to offer unique pieces to the most sophisticated customers, and this is particularly true for a brand like ours, specialized in systems" - explains Maria Porro, head of marketing and communication Porro and fourth generation of the founding family, to Pambianco Design magazine. Customers expect from the brand bespoke solutions and ad hoc projects. "The customer requirements are always different, and for this reason each of our projects is integrated into the architecture as if it was a dress tailored to the body. Our challenge is to be able to raise the modular systems to one-off pieces: this is why we have revolutionized the industrial production system with a lean perspective. In Porro the word "standard" no longer exists, there is no warehouse of semi- finished products, everything that is produced, right from the earliest stages of processing, is always a new product, developed to respond to each specific project ".
