PORRO @ MY DESIGN, PARIS

Opening: 4 October 2018
MY Design Showroom, 75 Quai de la Gare, Paris

23.11.18

Porro flies to the heart of the French capital for the inauguration of MY Design, the showroom overlooking the Seine which reopens after an accurate restyling becoming an exclusive display of the Italian brans Living Divani and Porro.

A 2-storey space of 500 square meters characterized by the architectural imprinting of the systems and the finest craftmanship and finishes of the collections, with which the founder Marie-Line Salançon aims to conquer the sophisticated and demanding luxury clientele and the world of architects, to whom Porro can offer a particularly varied catalogue and at the same time the propensity to bespoke service.

At the entrance, the visitor is welcomed by 4 Sidewall bookcases design Piero Lissoni, lacquered rosso cina, rosso fire, azzurro cielo and nero; combining poetry and functionality, the Mirror Table mirrors of the Swedish Front with their built-in console, in black and blue, are a door opened out onto imaginary places.

The living area is built around the Ferro low table design Piero Lissoni with bronze effect finish, screened by a System bookcase design Piero Lissoni + Porro Research Centre with 23 cm reduced depth: a floor-to-ceiling equipped wall runs full-height focusing on the strong material impact of its finish, the heat-treated elm.

Behind a Hinged Storage by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research Centre with avorio doors and cenere hemlock interiors, the bedroom is reserved to the Makura bed by Piero Lissoni, embellished with soft cushions and a sinuous black leather covering, accompanied by the Kite armchair by GamFratesi in its two-tone variant, with black leather seat and gray bouclé fabric upholstery.

Introduced by the discrete proportions and bright red color of the Ipercolore sideboard by Piero Lissoni, the dining room amazes for the Metallico table by Piero Lissoni in rosso antico, a velvety metallic finish rich of shadows, surrounded by the Neve chairs by Piero Lissoni in black stained ash and the Mikado cupboard by Front in olive ash wood, composed of a double row of sloped wooden slats allowing a glimpse of the interiors.

In the large living room upstairs, a plastic and rigorous Modern + Load-it composition combines the steel shelves and wall panels of the Load-it bookcase by Wolfgang Tolk to the black stained hemlock display case, TV element and open module of Modern system by Piero Lissoni, which gain depth thanks to the avorio lacquered interiors.

The Materic table by Piero Lissoni with round Sahara Noir marble top and solid black stained ash base, tapered and turned with a delicate motif, emerges in the dining room space with its clear and rigorously chic aesthetic, with the Pioggia chairs by Piero Lissoni with black stained ash tapered legs and soft fabric upholstery, fitting perfectly on the seat and armrests wrapping them.

With a wide variety of applications in transit spaces, Modern writing desk by Piero Lissoni in black stained hemlock, elegantly suspended from a denim lacquered wall panel, is combined with Conch chair by Decoma Design with a chromium-plated swivel base and black fabric upholstered shell with an elegant central hole.

In the bedroom, enclosed by a Storage Air self-bearing walk-in closet by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research Centre with Iron glass doors, Storage walk-in closet in eucalyptus wears tops, drawers and wall-mounted sweater holders in lino melammine, the Balancing Boxes coffee table by the Front, a series of black painted metal boxes overlapped with irregularities, is reflected in the Reflection mirrors by Piero Lissoni with a bronze painted metal frame.

Finally, Porro’s proposal is completed by the brand new Gap bookcases by Carlo Tamborini, composed of a backdrop, shelves and an external frame in grigio piombo painted metal. A strong aesthetic sign that acts simultaneously as a book-end and a light source, thanks to the trail of LEDs that runs through its perimeter.
