Chinese shadow play

The expression "Chinese shades" , which is frequently refer to both the shadow play and its characters, it is one of the first forms of the Chinese opera and has more than 2000 years of history, having been born in the Shaanxi period, during the dynasty of the Han (206 to.C. 220 d.Cs). The shadow play saw a large diffusion in China leading to a development of several variations in different geographical areas with different styles and specific figurines for each one. Usually the narrators of the shadow play followed three seams: there were those that narrated religious stories (tied up above all to the Buddhism),fantastic or mythological stories and historical events and love stories.
