Enclosed by a suspended glass perimeter that transforms it into an enormous display case, the new booth at the Salone del Mobile designed by Piero Lissoni is a highly impactful glass architecture which projects around itself the rhythm, shapes and colors of the Porro 2018 settings.

Dark herringbone parquet floor and ivory walls define a magical box in which different worlds live together, to be discovered a bit at a time, letting oneself be guided by the preciousness of the wooden essences, the luminosity of the metals and the bright colors of the woven linens and cottons, which can be modulated as one wishes to achieve the favourite environment aligned with one’s own desires.

An intimate and convivial dining room is set up around the new Ryoba table by Piero Lissoni with brass legs and a solid European cherry top: a new generation Modern cupboard, designed by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research Centre, encloses a freestanding cluster of eucalyptus boxes and special giallo mustard, rosso cina and blu reale painted metal boxes between 2 solid aluminum tray shelves with special blue paint finish, in which even the voids become part of the compositional rhythm.

The living room is delimited by 2 Ex-Libris bookshelves by Piero Lissoni which transform their style through baseboards in the new intense woodgrain Black Sugi melamine finish, doors, sides and back panels in the new millimetrato grigio glass, creating a pleasantly faded sheer effect which filters the light without revealing the interior. A pair of Curry daybeds by Piero Lissoni transport the viewer to exotic settings with their free trapezoidal forms, black stained oak structure, matt black stained straw backs and dark red fabric covered cushions, selected from the renowned offering of linens and velvets in the Porro catalogue.

In the nordic-flavored dining room the Materic table by Piero Lissoni with a circular surface in calacatta oro marble and sandblasted natural ash base, a very light coloring that highlights the tapering of the wood, converses with Piero Lissoni’s new Frank chairs with their shell-shaped body in blue velvet and tapered legs in antiqued brass.

This side of the room concludes in a jocular manner with 8 pure and linear Gap bookcases by Carlo Tamborini which don charming metallic finishes in grigio piombo or rosso antico, with a not-flat coloring rich in highlighting shadows.

A dining room with strong character places the Jeff table by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti center stage with its solid chestnut top and curvilinear bases in shiny blue pigmented steel: a large Modern composition combines a wide upper glass display case with a long eucalyptus sideboard on a 20 cm. high T-shaped food, with sahara noir marble covering top and new ring silver handles.

The protagonist of the bedroom is the Makura bed by Piero Lissoni in new beige color linen fabric with a classic piece like the Pull-Out Sliding Storage wardrobe, updated by means of its opening mechanism which is now equipped with a silent and comfortable magnetic shock absorber, with glossy crema lacquered doors which enclose refined grey toned cenere hemlock interiors.

In the broad living area 2 Kite Sofa couches by GamFratesi in white woven fabric offer a place to rest, marrying classical lines with the use of cushions with tough proportions. At the center of the space, the new Palladio coffee tables by GamFratesi create an interplay of shapes with tops in various marbles and a brass tube base with a striated texture.

The night area is the undisputed realm of Storage, the system of wardrobes, open wardrobes and walk-in closets designed by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research Centre, which composes refined settings, focusing on neutral colors and tone-on-tone finishes this year.
Holding one’s clothes and giving life to a secret room in one’s home, the Storage Dressing Room is shown here for the first time with a total look in ecalyptus, a strongly expressive brown finish. At the center of the wardrobe, the Acquario central drawer unit appears in transparent glass with burnished brass frame finishing, divided into 3 shelves and customizable with wooden pull-out reduced drawers which leave the contents visible, rejuvenated by a new khaki fabric and eco-leather jewel case which make it an even more fanciful object.

In the bedroom, revealing a creative, ingenious project and an almost hand-crafted saddlery-like production, the Sadoru bed by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti in corda leather is characterized by considerable thicknesses, double stitching and the refined detail of the wide curved headboard, which from the side appears to fold over like an envelope.
A small bourgeois-taste universe is created by two open Storage wardrobes in eucalyptus melamine with grey fabric covered back panels and eco-leather shelves, combined with the Boutique Mast walk-in closet which is light and airy, selected with an Iron upright and open elements in pale moon essence with carta da zucchero interiors. An elegant graphical cage characterized by thin circular metal uprights on which it is possible to hang mirrors and large cantilever “glider wing” shelves, is a high aesthetic impact solution which, in the night area, becomes a minimal walk-in closet for a boutique or for the home of a hedonist, and in the day area becomes an open container, writing surface and large bookshelf. If on the wall a Load-it bookcase is shown in its purity with grey fabric covered wall panels, at the center 2 Hub central drawer units live in a pale moon essence alternating wooden and glass drawers on one side and wooden drawers as well as the sit-bench solution in corda saddle leather on the other: a place where one can sit to contemplate the wardrobe calmly, the heart of the home and a must-have among Porro’s offerings.
