Porro’s design has been protagonist of a special event on May 17 to celebrate the NYC Design Week and the new 2017 product launches at West | NYC Home, the innovative concept store resembling a big open-space house managed by the prestigious architecture, interior design and decoration practice WCA West Chin Architects & Interior designers.
On the 1st floor of a charming Midtown building with large glass windows, 5 night and day settings show the excellent quality of Porro’s systems and collections, completed by the upholsteries by Living Divani: neat shapes warmed up by the chromatic vitality of 16 Porro woods, spreading intense tones of elegance, preciousness and relax.
Perfectly representing Porro’s geometric-romantic mood, characterizing the 2017 collection, the new Materic table emerges in the space of the dining room with its clear and rigorously fashionable aesthetic, a decorative object that juxtaposes the absolute simplicity of its form with the attention to detail and workmanship. An exercise in totally pure geometry, a thin circle resting on a truncated cone, it is tinged with the rich highlights of the surface in white marble, and the intense dark of the solid black stained ash base, tapered and then turned with a delicate wedge design recalls the columns of the Greek temples. A visual icon, that mixes classical inspiration with a contemporary soul.
The grid of the Porro’s space, the company’s systems are refined each year, offering a texture in which to move freely, giving rise to ever-changing configurations.
Protagonist of a first living zone, the geometric pattern of a Modern+Load it composition. Eye-catching mix of bookcase, storage element and display unit, it combines Load –It steel shelves and wall panels to the Modern tortora matt lacquered hanging element, writing desk and 3 closed square elements all in eucalyptus.
The dining room is characterized by the strong and equilibrated impact of a big System bookcase in Canaletto walnut, playing on the irregularity of open units partially closed by crystal hinged doors with an Iron frame. It’s completed by glass shelves, drawers and trays.
The path culminates in the wardrobe area, the quintessence of Porro’s customization.
To create a secret room for your clothes, Storage dressing room is presented in a wide corner composition in “cenere” hemlock alternating open and closed units with Iron smoke crystal hinged doors, completed by a Storage closet with “carbone” oak structure and black painted pole and by the Storage wardrobe with Scoop pull-out sliding doors in white back-painted crystal, that hides mongoi interiors.
