Porro plays a starring role in the Big Apple during the New York City Design Week, the American vibrant and inspiring showcase dedicated to design and creativity, perfect occasion to present the 2018 novelties just launched at the Salone del Mobile in Milan to the US public.
The brand renowned for its research on finishes, its clean design and the impeccable details of its furniture, is present in the heart of the 30th Annual ICFF, the platform for global design, with a booth realized in collaboration with its retailer West | NYC Home.
Perfected year after year, the Porro systems define the grid of the exhibiting space, offering a texture in which to move freely, giving rise to ever-changing configurations.
The Storage Dressing Room is shown in a large angular composition in cenere hemlock: it alternates moduled closed by Iron doors in smoke glass with iron profile, along with wooden open modules providing pleasant tactile sensations.
The System bookcase in barrique oak, designed by Piero Lissoni + Porro Research centre, astonishes with its visual lightness, showing off its wide modules marked by the display case with transparent doors and shelves and scenographic internal lights.
On the wall we find an unusual Modern + Load-it composition, design Piero Lissoni and Wolfgang Tolk, which renews its look in a plastic, rigorous key favoring a monochromatic wood – the heat-treated elm - for the Load-it wall panels and Modern board, in a soft contrast with the burnished brass Load-it shelves and the grigio seta lacquered Modern hanging module and interiors that provide depth: a seductive mix of precious wooden essences, bright metals and refined colors, which can be modulated as one wishes to achieve the favourite environment aligned with one’s own desires.
Complete the ambiance Balancing Boxes small table designed by Front, consisting of a series of irregularly overlapping red gum wooden boxes, as though balancing in space. Inclinations, interconnections and a multifaceted image, giving different sensations as we look at it from different angles.
Next to the presence at the fair, Porro revamps its exposition at West | NYC Home, the innovative concept store resembling a big open-space house managed by the prestigious architecture, interior design and decoration practice WCA West Chin Architects & Interior designers.
Not far from the beating heart of economy and from the WCA headquarters, the showroom aims at attracting customers, who are given the chance to take a close look at the products designed for their future home, as well as the world of NY architects and developers, who can choose from a wide, varied range of off-the-shelf products and at the same time they can rely on the brand’s inclination towards bespoke service.
On the 1st floor of a charming Midtown building with large glass windows, 5 night and day settings show the excellent quality of Porro’s systems and collections, completed by the upholsteries by Living Divani: neat shapes warmed up by the chromatic vitality of 18 Porro woods, spreading intense tones of elegance, preciousness and relax.
