@ Altagamma Made in Italy Day

23.04.24

Palazzo Piancentini, Via Vittorio Veneto, 27, Rome
From 15 April to mid-May

Associated with Altagamma since 2017, the foundation that since 1992 brings together companies from the high cultural and creative industry in Italy, recognized as authentic ambassadors of Italian style worldwide, Porro participates at the first Made in Italy Day, established on April 15th by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and proposed by Altagamma to raise awareness among young people about the value of manufacturing jobs and to celebrate Italian craftsmanship.
Among the planned activities is the exhibition inaugurated on April 15th by Minister Adolfo Urso at the Ministry headquarters, Palazzo Piacentini in Rome, aimed at representing the beauty, creativity, and manufacturing wisdom of Italy's excellent industry, open for a couple of weeks until mid-May.

Porro joins the initiative by contributing to the video-installation that tells the story of the mastery, techniques and skills with which talented craftsmen create Made in Italy masterpieces in the various sectors and at the same time exhibiting a representative piece from its collection. Conveying Porro's love for wood and the mastery of shaping it, the Balancing Boxes coffee table in Tineo finish, designed in 2010 by Front Design, the Swedish design studio of Anna Lindgren and Sofia Lagerkvist, is emblematic of Porro's research into materials, manufacturing and forms that give emotion and iconic presence in the contemporary domestic landscape. Not an ordinary coffee table, this object that defies classifications and expectations is also a container, a magazine rack, a support and a work of art, which conquers for its visual lightness and at the same time the charm of its precious finish.
